👋 A bit about me

I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart.
I put myself through college running a painting and property rehab business, later started (and sold) two lawn care companies, and eventually opened my own restaurant in downtown Boise — a local spot that became known for food, art, and community.

Along the way, I also built a 30-year career as a Physical Therapist, including nearly a decade in a regional leadership role developing rehab directors across a large U.S. healthcare organization.

That experience taught me two things:
1️⃣ How to lead and mentor people.
2️⃣ That trading time for money — even with a great paycheck — wasn’t true freedom.

🔄 My turning point

During that leadership role, I started saving aggressively and studying investing and financial independence (the FIRE movement).
Even though I started “late,” I reached FI and was able to retire at 58.

Talking with friends, I kept hearing myself saying the same thing:

“Just think if we had known this when we were younger.”

That sparked an idea — and soon after, the FI for Kids Podcast was born.

I love talking about financial independence because it’s not just about money — it’s about clarity, values, and designing a life you love.
Today, I focus on helping parents:
✅ Build smart money habits as a family.
✅ Teach kids practical financial skills.
✅ Move toward more options, flexibility, and joy — through financial freedom.
